10.11 STEERING STOP ADJUSTMENT _____________________________________________
The steering toe-in must be adjusted before you adjust
the stop bolts. When the toe-in is adjusted, stop bolts
must be adjusted.
Loosen the jam nuts on both sides of the axle. Turn the
studs out as far as possible.
Turn the steering wheel to the left to extend the steering
cylinder rod until the left tire is at a 45° angle to the
steering axle. Turn the right side stud in until the bolt
touches the axle.
Turn the steering wheel to the right to retract the steering
cylinder rod until the right side tire is at a 45° angle to the
steering axle. Turn the left side stud in until the bolt
touches the axle.
10.12 FRONT DECK SERVICE POSITION ___________________________________________
The front deck has a service position to give access to the bottom of the cutting unit and the blades for service.
To lift the front deck to the service position -
1.
Rotate the pivot bracket, found below the left side floor panel
to the service position.
2.
Start the engine and lift the front deck until the gauge wheels
are off the ground. Stop the engine.
3.
Note the location of the gauge wheel height of cut pins.
Remove the gauge wheel height of cut pins.
4.
Start the engine and completely lift the front deck. Stop the
engine.
5.
Manually lift the front to the front deck to rotate the deck to the
service position.
To lower the front deck from the service position -
1.
Manually lift the front deck and pull the latch out to release the front deck.
2.
Manually lower and rotate the front deck until the lift arms hold the deck. To prevent injury or damage to the
mower, do not allow the front deck to fall from the service position.
3.
Start the engine and lower the front deck until the gauge wheels are 2 to 3 inches (5 to 7.5 cm) off the ground.
Stop the engine.
4.
Install the height of cut pins for the gauge wheels into the correct set of holes.
5.
Lower the front deck to the ground.
6.
Rotate the pivot bracket to the operation position.
WARNING
The front deck is heavy. If the deck falls, the deck can cause
injury or damage. Always lift heavy objects with the correct
methods.
When you pull the release latch, you will release the weight of
the front deck. Make sure any person who helps you, knows
when the latch is released.
