7. MAINTENANCE
The user may perform the following commonplace maintenance operations:
•
Batteries replacement
•
Correct operating tests
•
Storage
In order to replace the batteries, the acoustic release must be opened.
7.1 OPENING THE ACOUSTIC RELEASE
CAUTION:
Electronics and mechanical sealing surfaces are sensitive to dust and humidity. They must
be protected from any shock and remain free from scratches. So, please execute the following
procedure in a clean place.
Required tool: size 10 Allen key.
Step 1 : prepare the instrument
•
Install the instrument on a clean horizontal surface and secure it in position using foam cradle or
anything which will prevent it from rolling on the table.
•
Do not install the pressure housing in a vice or any tool which can stress, deform or damage it.

Step 2 : open the hook
List of tools required (those are normally supplied together with any instrument)
•
Opening / closing ALLEN key and its extension arm (ref FO9102971 or FOKIT-B2S)
•
ALLEN key for partial dismantle of the hook
•
Using ALLEN key open the hook mechanism by unscrewing the locking screw as shown (alternatively
open the hook using an IXSEA compatible acoustic telecommand unit)
