6.3 RECOVERY
The mooring has been deployed, now it is time to recover it. This section describes the procedure to perform
this recovery.
Note
The remote control unit is necessary for the releasing operation. Check and recharge the remote control unit
the day before it is used (refer to the remote control unit user manual).
Prior to proceed with the releasing operation, it is recommended to range on the AR800 series unit to check the
acoustic link.
Note
Due to the stand-by mode of the transmitting section, the AR800 series may not respond to the first remote
control unit or transmit at very low acoustic power level. If necessary, repeat the ranging operations.
When contact with the AR800 series is successful, note the range and compare with known depth on site of the
mooring. Using the range indication, navigate the vessel towards the mooring position until the distance equals
approximately the depth. At this position, stop the vessel and proceed with Release operation as following.
Step Action
1
.
First initialize the TT801 remote control equipment and the receiver mode as indicated in the User
Manual.
2.
See individual Factory Acceptance Test or the label stuck on the AR800 SERIES.
3.
Send the ARM code and the RELEASE code.
As soon as the acoustic actuator has received the remote control code, it returns a first command
acknowledgement ARM signal. The slant range between surface unit and acoustic actuator is
displayed on the remote control unit.
Upon reception of an acoustic command, the motor control shaft (ref.: 910 1660) rotates by 180° the
“Dog Clutch” type release mechanism (ref.: 910 1661A).
The dog clutch generates a positive action and drives off the release pin.
(ref.: 910 1662) out from the locked position.
The lever (ref.: 910 2922) turns around its axis (ref.: 910 1529), and makes free the retaining system
of the hook (ref.: 910 2923A).
Then the hook (ref.: 910 2923A) turns around its axis (ref.: 910 1528) and enables the release ring to
fall.
Actual releasing can be assessed by cable tension, which becomes weak.
The B2S releasing unit can be retrieved at the surface.
When the engine stops turning, a second acknowledgement ARM signal is transmitted to the remote
control unit.
4.
End of procedure.
