During POST, BIOS will determine if the floppy disk drive insta lled is 40 or 80
tra cks. 360K type is 40 tra cks while 760K, 1.2M a nd 1.44M a re a ll 80 tra cks.
Enabled
BIOS searches for floppy disk drive to determine if it is 40 or 80
tracks. Note that BIOS can not tell from 720K, 1.2M or 1.44M
drive type as they are all 80 tracks.
Disabled
BIOS will not search for the type of floppy disk drive by track
number. Note that there will not be any warning message if the
drive installed is 360K.
This a llows you to determine the defa ult sta te of the numeric keypa d. By defa ult,
the system boots up with NumLock on.

Set the speed to low
This entry a llows you to select how the ga te A20 is ha ndled. The ga te A20 is a
device used to a ddress memory a bove 1 Mbytes. Initia lly, the ga te A20 wa s
ha ndled via a pin on the keyboa rd. Toda y, while keyboa rds still provide this
support, it is more common, a nd much fa ster, for the system chipset to provide
support for ga te A20.
