IQ Power™ BPS
5201197 Rev. D
I.
Connect to existing 8003 Virtual AC system
(if used). In cases where the unit
is being used to replace or expand an existing Virtual AC system, power cannot be
received from the (24VAC) Virtual AC system. The connection to the Virtual AC
system will provide for digital communication only. Power will have to be provided
with an AC adapter (section F) or user supplied power (section G).
Adapter kits and cables
are available to connect
the IQ Power™ BPS to
an existing Virtual AC
system, typically replacing
an 8003 in the system.
5051700 Comm Adapter
Kit, 8115/IQ Power™ to
8003 is a plug-in adapter
to allow connection
between an existing
Virtual AC system and the
COMM 1 connector on
the IQ Power™ BPS. The
required cable is included.
5051693 Adapter Block
Kit, VAC / VAC / Ion
Power to 8115/ IQ
Power™ is an enclosed
terminal block on a short modular cable that can be used to adapt the existing wiring
from an Ion Power system to plug into COMM 1 on the IQ Power™ BPS. It does
require user cable preparation to terminate.
See drawing 5201175, System Configuration, 8115/ IQ Power™ Ion Power, for more
information on connecting adapters shown above. Detailed instructions are included
with the kit.
Digital communication with the IQ Power™ BPS provided by the above wiring
devices will be similar to that from a typical Ion Power Module (e.g. 8100, 8154,
8155). With regard to data, the IQ Power™ BPS emulates the 8100 Power Module.
If a web speed encoder is used on the 8003 being replaced, a retrofit cable, P.N.
5051696, is available. This cable connects to the web speed encoder and PS COMM
2 on the IQ Power™ BPS.
