To use Adaptive Multipoint – the unit’s embedded transceiver must be configured to be
operating as a Point-to-Multipoint Slave. Additionally, the unit’s Navigator Operation
must be set to slave.
Enable Adaptive Multipoint by selecting Option (1) – and note change from (Off) to
(On). To disable, perform the same operating toggling the mode from (On) to (Off).
Adaptive Multipoint has three “tuning” parameters described below, configure to suit
your application.
Transmit Attempt Timeout
Controls how long to continue to attempt to contact the Master radio to transmit data
before giving up. When a unit is in weak wireless coverage, or the network is very busy
– it may be difficult to immediately get data through. For some types of data it may
make sense to give up and clear the buffer – for example a vehicle transmitting its GPS
position – it may make sense to give up attempting to send the last position, and send the
most recent position.
