NMEA Parsing
Allows the user to disable the parsing of NMEA data from the embedded GPS receiver
(thus verifying checksums and ensuring complete strings). NMEA parsing is a
requirement to enable proprietary NMEA string such as $PMIN1.
Enabling the GPS parser only allows whole strings to be transmitted over the wireless
link, thus any packet wirelessly transmitted will contain a complete NMEA string if it
contains any GPS data at all.
Distance Based Updates
The Distance Based Updates feature allows the user to specify a distance that the unit
must travel to trigger a GPS update. When an update is triggered, the unit will transmit
the $PMIN1 string. The feature takes two configuration parameters: 1) the minimum
distance that must be traveled to trigger the update and 2) the timeout specifies the time
to trigger an update if one is not otherwise triggered by a change in the unit’s position.
