Splice area not smooth after trimming
More trimming needed
Within five (5)-10 minutes of cooling time, complete the following steps.
•
Trim away all weld beads and flash using the Skiver and Trimmers within 10 minutes.
•
Feather offset belt edges together to eliminate snags. If belt ends are offset more than 1/16"
(1.5 mm), repeat the splice. If belt widths are more than 1/8" (3 mm) different, contact
Intralox Technical Support.
Trim tool wear/damage
•
Inspect Skiver for blade damage/wear. Repair/replace as needed.
•
Inspect Trimmers for damage/wear. Repair/replace as needed.
Weld bead/flash too cool to trim
After about 10 minutes of cooling, the splice is too hard to trim properly.
1.
Cut the splice completely from the belt and repeat the full splicing procedure.
2.
Do not allow splice to cool more than three (3) minutes before beginning to trim.
Belt ends or edges are offset
