Avoid Injury.
Keep hands and fingers clear of Frame
edge when opening the Clamping
Fixture.
Contact with hot Heat Wand or Stand
will cause skin burns; use caution.
Wear safety glasses and use caution
when handling knives and trim tools.
Set Up at the Returnway
When it is difficult or impossible to splice on
the carryway, the Splicing System can be set up
to splice the belt at the returnway using these
steps.
NOTE
Returnway splicing may require more assistance.
1.
Place the Clamping Fixture on a sturdy, flat,
portable surface.
2.
Position the Clamping Fixture and support-
ing surface under the conveyor frame return-
way near the belt ends.

Ensure there is adequate space above and
around the Clamping Fixture for Heat Wand
movement.
Make Belt Tabs
If Belt Tabs are lost or missing, use scrap belt, a
utility knife, and Cut Guide to make new ones.
1.
Cut a 1" (25 mm) strip from a belt end using
the belt end preparation procedure.
NOTE
All Belt Tabs must have one drive bar.

2.
Lay the strip on a flat, solid surface and cut it
into 0.5" (13 mm) pieces. At least four are used
for each splice.
