Improving switch security
To restrict the use of the switch using
Device Setup
, you can:
■
Change the administrator password.
■
Change the user password.
■
Limit access to Local Management via the
Console
port and/or
Telnet.
■
Specify a time of “no input”, after which the connection with
Local Management is terminated.
■
Change the password for moving files with TFTP.
■
Specify use of TFTP.
■
Restrict access to include only the stations named on the SNMP
Authentications list.
Using the mouse
There are three methods of obtaining the
Device Setup
window:

Use the pull-down menus

Double left-click on the switch
■
Right-click on the switch
