Installation and Uninstallation

Requirements

You need a PC with the following requirements to run Intel Device
View for Windows:

■

An Intel486™ microprocessor or Pentium® processor (recom-
mended).

■

A minimum of 8Mbytes RAM (16Mbytes or more is recom-
mended).

■

A harddisk with 5 Mbytes free space.

■

An SVGA color display with a minimum of 800 x 600 resolution
and 16 colors (1024 x 768 in 256 colors is recommended).

■

One CD-ROM drive.

■

Microsoft Windows NT workstation or server, version 4.0 or
3.51, or Microsoft Windows 95
A Windows NT 4.0 (English language version) workstation is
recommended.

■

The Microsoft TCP/IP protocol must be installed and configured
before installation of Intel Device View.

■

Two or three button, Window-compatible mouse and driver.

DHCP limitation

Two important things to know:

1. Do not use a PC running Windows NT server (with its DHCP

server installed) to run Intel Device View, and

2. Ensure the IP address for the PC is not changed by the DHCP

server.

Installation Under LANDesk

 Network Manager

LANDesk Network
Manager on the PC

If the installation program detects the presence of LANDesk Network
Manager on the PC, then Intel Device View may be integrated under
it. After this, double-clicking the icon for an Intel Express Switch
opens Intel Device View.
