2.10. Arming and Takeoff
Note:
Before first flight, it is very important that the compass is calibrated. This is
a one-time calibration that will only need to be performed if the vehicle travels
across time-zones. Instructions on Compass calibration can be found in
GPS LED Indicator
Blue Breathing: Waiting for GPS lock
Green Breathing: GPS Lock obtained, ready to fly
Red Flashing: Error - See QGroundControl for error message details, or reboot
vehicle.
1.
Before arming, wait for the triangular light on the GPS module to turn green,
indicating that the flight controller has obtained a suitable GPS signal. It will also
automatically enter position flight mode when this happens.
2. Arm the drone by holding the left stick on the radio down and to the right. The
motors will start spinning immediately, and the flight controller should emit a
long tone indicating the drone is armed and ready to take off.
3. Takeoff by slowly raising the throttle. The throttle must be raised above the
midpoint. Continue raising the throttle and the drone will take off.
Caution:
If the drone begins to tip over on takeoff, immediately lower the
throttle and disarm. If this occurs, it is likely that a propeller was installed on a
wrong motor, or an ESC is not calibrated properly. Contact Inspired Flight for
diagnostic instructions.
