3. Appendix
3.1. Registering Vehicle with FAA
According to national law, all unmanned aerial vehicles must be registered with the FAA
prior to flight. Register the aircraft here: ​
https://faadronezone.faa.gov/
It is recommended that the FAA registration number be printed and stuck to the top
carbon plate where the battery is mounted.
3.2. Calibrating the Compass
When the drone is transferred between areas (more than 300 miles), it could be
necessary to recalibrate the compass to account for changes in magnetic field strength.
This process can be accomplished through the Vehicle Setup menu highlighted below.

Under the ‘Set Orientations’ Tab, set the external compass orientation to
‘ROTATION_YAW_90’. Hit ‘OK’.
