2. Proper use
The DVS 300 consists of a digital video recorder DVS-300, an infrared remote
control FB-DV1 and a power supply
.
It is used for recording of video and, if required, audio sequences from a
connected CCTV surveillance camera (not included). The camera must be
powered separately. The device has two A/V inputs, between which can be
manually switched. Only the signal from the selected input can be recorded.
The recording is made on a SD memory card (not included) with capacity
between 4 and 32 GB, together with time and date. A continuous recording can
be started either manually or by setting a time schedule. Alternatively the
recording can be started through detection of motion. In this mode, changes
and movements in the camera image will be detected by the internal software
and a video sequence will be recorded, together with several seconds of
recording before the detection. The video sequences are stored in a ring memory
system, i.e. the oldest sequences are automatically overwritten if the SD card is
full.
The total time period which can be recorded on an SD memory card is
determined by several factors: the capacity of the card, the selected recording
mode, the amount of movement in the picture and the selected frame rate. The
recorder can be set and live or recorded video viewed through a connecetd
television or video monitor. Alternatively, recorded sequences can be read from
the SD memory card on a PC.
The DVS 300 is designed for operation in private households.
