DIGITAL sAFE

XiVA Digital Safe allows you to use your robust Imerge

storage as the perfect backup location for all your files,

aiding data recovery in the event of your PC or Mac hard
drive failing.

UsING YOUR DIGITAL sAFE

Whichever XiVASafe storage unit, XS1e (1Tb), XS3i
(3Tb) or XS6i (6Tb) you have attached to your MS1

MediaServer, you can use the storage as a Digital Safe, in

which to save copies of those files you need to secure.

Accessing it is exactly the same as transferring media to
and from your MS1, as described on page 43

. You’ll see

a share called Digital Safe listed along with the other
shares such as MusicShare and Import.

In a second Explorer (Finder) window, navigate to the
files you want to save, then simply drag the individual
files or groups of files across to your Digital Safe.

Alternatively, drag a whole folder hierarchy across
and drop it into your Digial Safe. This has the obvious
advantage that the organisation of your secure data is
the same as that on your personal computer, so it’s much

easier to find, should the worst happen.
