APPENDIX F – ESD (ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE) PROTECTION
Some precautionary procedures should be taken to protect the device
against ESD:
1)
Avoid the accumulation of electrostatic charge (e.g., increasing the
humidity of the room, using conductive flooring and wearing natural
fiber clothing)
2)
Any accumulated charge on the body of the human operator should be
discharged to the frame of the device, to the ground and big metal
block.
3)
Use well-grounded ESD wrist strap.
We recommend that all staff involved should receive training in ESD
precautionary procedures, including the causes, the damages and the
protections of ESD.

Pins of connectors identified with the
ESD warning symbol should not be touched and
that connections should not be made to these
connectors unless ESD precautionary procedures
are used.
