Auto Clean Setup (for Impulse Jet Heads w/ACS only)
Use the Auto Clean Setup screen to turn automatic print head cleaning on and off, select
the auto clean timing method, and program cleaning times.
The Auto Clean Setup screen is available only on IJ3000 systems that have at least one
Impulse Jet print head interface board. To display the Auto Clean Setup screen:
1. On the Home Screen, touch the
Control Panels
button to open the Control Panels
Menu.
2. Touch the
Auto Clean Setup
button on the Control Panels Menu to open the Auto
Clean Setup screen.
The IJ3000 can be programmed to clean print heads periodically (every hour, every 2
hours, every 6 hours, etc.) or on specific days and times. The method of operation is
selected by touching radio buttons at the upper right hand corner of the Auto Clean Setup
screen.
Periodic Operation
Touch the
Periodic
radio button to perform print head cleaning at set intervals, and to dis-
play the controls for setting the interval period.
To set the maintenance interval:
1. Touch the hour or minute control to highlight it.
2. Touch the
Up/Down Arrow
buttons to increment and decrement the interval time. The
interval can be set from 30 minutes to 24 hours, in 30-minute increments.
3. Touch the
OK
button to start the interval timer and return to the Home Screen.
In the illustration above, the print heads will be cleaned every 6 hours starting from the time
the OK button is touched. For example, if Auto Clean Setup was programmed at 7:00 a.m.,
the system would clean the print heads at 1:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., 1:00 a.m., and 7:00 a.m.
NOTE
: Print heads are not cleaned while the IJ3000 is turned off, but the interval timer con-
tinues to run. The timer is not reset (does not start over) when the IJ3000 is turned back on.
This means that, using the example above, the print heads will be cleaned at 7:00 a.m.,
1:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 1:00 a.m. if the IJ3000 is on at those times, regardless of if or
how long the IJ3000 might be turned off in between those times.
