Commissioning
Note the operating instructions of the condenser
(RC 2 or KV 600) and the C 200 calorimeter.
When the inner vessel is filled with medium during
a test, the filling level drops in the condenser.
The removed quantity is pumped back into the
condenser after the test. Therefore, the medium
must not be refilled, otherwise there is a risk that
the condenser will overflow.
Procedure:
1. Fill the condenser with medium and set the desired
working temperature.
2. C 200 initial fill; refer to the operating instructions for
the device.
3. Manual control of the flow rate (pressure control valve).
•
Fill the condenser up to the max. fill level with a suitable
medium.
•
Open the adjusting cap on the pressure control valve: Push
the cap upwards and turn it clockwise (+) by 5 turns.
•
Switch on the condenser.
•
Set the working temperature on the condenser (e.g. 22 °C).
IKA
®
recommends operation at 2800 rpm.
•
Start the pump function of the condenser so that water is
pumped through the pressure hose into the tank of the
C 200.
•
Once the condenser has reached the desired temperature,
the C 200 switches on.
•
Carry out initial filling with the C 200:
For the initial filling of the outer vessel, the C 200 pumps the
medium from the tank of the C 200. To balance the fill level,
the medium is pumped from the condenser. This reduces the
fill level in the condenser. Refill with water up to the max. fill
level. The initial filling takes about 1 minute.
•
The flow rate on the adapter can be adjusted using the
pressure control valve.
Reduce the flow rate if the fill level in the fill
level indicator of the C 200 is visible and rises.
The fill level in the C 200 tank should always
be lower than what can be displayed in the
fill level indicator of the C 200.
1. Turn the adjusting cap on the pressure control valve by
one turn counter clockwise (-). Check the fill level, if this
falls the correction is sufficient, if it continues to rise,
turn it by another turn (-). Repeat the procedure until
the medium in the fill level indicator is no longer visible.
2. Press the adjusting cap down to close the pressure
control valve.
