Main Board
Caution: Replacing the main board will cause the existing configuration
data lost and return to the factory defaults.
Symptom
Corrective Action
After turning on the power, no “beep” is heard
after booting.
Replace the main board.
The system fails to boot successfully.
The LCD panel displays only the date and time.
Connect the console
cables (refer to Appendix
B) to investigate the
system booting process.
If the system reports any
hardware failure, replace
the main board.
After reinstalling the firmware, the system still
not works well.
Replace the main board.
Cannot connect to the network and the network
LED is off.
Check the network
connection first. If there is
no problem on network
connection, replace the
main board.
Cannot detect or perform the backup job to the
external SCSI tape drive.
Open the top cover, try to
replace the internal SCSI
connector or connect the
tape drive directly to the
main board. If the failure
persists, replace the main
board.
