Use the IO Configuration menu (

BIOS Menu 7

) to set or change the configurations for the

FDD controllers, parallel ports and serial ports.

BIOS Menu 7: Super IO Configuration

OnBoard Floppy Controller [Enabled]

Use the

OnBoard Floppy Controller

to enable or disable the floppy controller. If a floppy

disk is not being used in the system, disabling this option frees up system resources that

can be redirected elsewhere in the system.

Disabled

Allows BIOS to disable the floppy controller

Enabled

EFAULT

Allows BIOS to enable the floppy controller

Serial Port1 Address [3F8/IRQ4]

Use the

Serial Port1 Address

option to select the Serial Port 1 base address.

No base address is assigned to Serial Port 1
