Special Internal Relay (M)
Special internal relays (M) are bit devices used internally on the Touch. Each bit has been assigned a special function.
Although the device code for internal relays (M0000 to M1277) and special internal relays (M8000 to M8177)
is the same ("M"), the device characteristics are different. Special functions are assigned to each bit of the
special internal relay.
Do not change the status of reserved special internal relays, otherwise the Touch may not operate
correctly.

M8000
Start Control
M8000 controls the state of the ladder program or FBD
program (RUN/STOP). When M8000 is turned on, the ladder
program or FBD program is executed, and when turned off,
the ladder program or FBD program stops. Stop input and
reset input have precedence over M8000 (start control).
M8000 maintains its status when the Touch is powered down.
When the data to be maintained during power failure is broken
after the Touch has been off for a period longer than the
battery backup duration, the Touch restarts ladder program
operation or FBD program operation or not as selected in

Carry (Cy) and Borrow (Bw)
When a carry or borrow results from executing an addition or
subtraction instruction, M8003 turns on. M8003 is also used
for the bit shift and rotate instructions. For the causes of carry
(CY) and borrow (BW), they vary based on the selected
programming language. For details, refer to following.
•Ladder program
F
Refer to Chapter 4 "Instructions Reference" – "Carry and
Borrow" in the "SmartAXIS Ladder Programming Manual".
•FBD program

Refer to Chapter 4 "FB Reference" – "Carry and Borrow" in
the " SmartAXIS FBD Programming Manual".
