Collecting information

Execute the following sequence of commands to capture information to send to your IBM
Support representative for problem analysis:

snap -r

: This removes previous data collections from

/tmp/ibmsupt

snap -gflHc

: This collects information from your system and generates a compressed file

in the

/tmp/ibmsupt

directory named

snap.pax.Z

. Send the compressed file output to your

IBM Support representative for review.

mpio_get_config -Av

: This commands shows how your specific DS5000 is recognized by

your MPIO AIX driver (this command does not work with SDDPCM).

Commands to display disk usage

The commands to display your disk usage are:

lspv

: Displays all disks and their usage per volume group (even volume groups that are

not active).

򐂰

lsvg -o

: Displays only online volume groups.

򐂰

mount

: Displays file systems currently in use.

򐂰

lsvg -l vgname

: Lists file systems for the vgname volume group (only if the volume group

is active).

򐂰

lspv -l hdisk*

: Lists file systems in disk hdisk*.

Other useful commands

Other useful commands are:

: Provides a complete listing of FC parameters of the HBA. Replaces

lsattr

lscfg

: Displays error log information.
