Startup Problems
Problem Action
The operating system
startup fails when docked. Verify that:
1. The device for the boot operation is turned on and ready.
Turn on the device power before the computer power
when the drive has an independent power source.
2. The drive letters used for the boot operation are correct.
The drive letters may be changed automatically when
docked.
3. The drive operates correctly when running device
diagnostics. See “How to Run Tests” on page 92 for
details.
4. The computer resource assignments do not conflict when
docked. See “Resource Conflict Problems” on page 106 if
you suspect a resource conflict.
PC Card Problems
Problem Action
An installed PC Card does
not work. Verify that:
1. The PC Card is correctly installed. See “Installing or
Removing a PC Card” on page 59.
2. The PC Card can be used without problems when installed
directly in your computer. If not, pursue the problem using
the troubleshooting guide in the computer's user's guide
first.
3. The PC card is correctly set up, including computer
resource assignments and device driver installation.
Run the diagnostic test for the PCMCIA slot. See “How to Run
Tests” on page 92.
