5.3 Function interaction
5.3.1 Phone Interconnect
To use the Phone feature, you need to enable it for the terminal in the CPS and set
appropriate Access Code and De-Access Code. To call the phone, please send the
Access Code to access the phone system first. To exit the phone system, please
send the De-Access Code to terminate the communication and exit the phone
system. The call from the terminal to the phone is also subject to the TX Admit
settings. The terminal can make calls only when it complies with the TX Admit
settings. The terminal can call the phone only when the terminal, repeater and
PSTN gateway are correctly set, and the terminal complies with the TX Admit
settings. For a call from the phone to the terminal, the terminal needs to send the
Access Code before answering it.
The Phone feature can be used in either digital or analog mode. In digital mode,
private call, group call and all call can be made between the terminal and the phone.
However, for a call from the phone to the terminal, its call type must correspond to
the TX contact set for the repeater.
Does the Phone feature affect the terminal’s conventional communication, no. This
feature only allows the phone to communicate with the terminal in the
communication system via the PSTN gateway. For a call from the terminal to the
phone, the terminal sends call request and voice to the repeater. Then such request
data and voice are repeated by the repeater to the PSTN gateway, and then to the
phone. The call from the terminal to the phone or vice versa is the same as the
conventional communication.
How to configure the TX Admit for the terminal.
Analog Channel: Select “Always Allow” for the “TX Admit” parameter.
Digital Channel: If the TX contact for the repeater is an all call contact, select
“Always Allow” for the "TX Admit" parameter on the digital channel setting interface.
If it is not an all call contact, the “Color Code Free” option is recommended. During
call receiving, please select the “Always Allow” option.
Please do not check the "Encrypt” parameter for the digital terminal, because the
repeater does not support the Decrypt feature. If checked, the communication may
get affected.
If one terminal sends the Access Code, all the other terminals can talk with the
phone. In this way, the communication between the phone and the terminal sending
the access code may be affected. Therefore, it is suggested to make different TX
Admit settings for the terminals.
