2.11.4 Text Message Service (TMP)

Hytera Text Message ADK is a simple text message transmission protocol realized
in radio system. In radio system, one-to-one text message transmission can be
realized, as well as the function of one to multiple. Text Message ADK is an
extension based on it enabling user to realize transmitting and receiving text
message through ADK interface on PC.

Figure 2.11.4-1: Text message protocol frame

As shown in the figure, the text messages are transmitted by carried in UDP/IP
packets through USB cable. In wireless network of radio, the text messages are
conveyed via common air interface (CAI).

The following functions can be realized through Hytera Text Message ADK:

z

PC sends a message to a specific terminal. This task is realized by verifying ID

of the terminal. Only those terminals with ID in accordance can receive this
message. Those terminals with ID not in accordance will automatically cast off
this message.

z

PC sends a message to all terminals of a group. This task is realized by

verifying ID of the terminal. Only those terminals with the same group ID can
receive this message.

z

Terminal sends a message to PC. The terminal sends a message to Dispatcher

Station connected with PC. As long as transmission to PC option is set in
Dispatcher Station, it will enable PC to receive this message. This message is
sent by Dispatcher Station connected with it. At this time, Dispatcher Station
plays the function similar as gateway enabling to transmit message in wireless
network to PC network.
