SERVICE MANUAL
1 – BASIC CHARACTERISTICS
Xp Mode controls SIATA multi-way valves
for the realisation of water treatment
systems. The regeneration cycle is
completely programmable, and is
activated in one of the following ways:
At the programmed time, after the
programmed interval days have passed;
At the programmed time, without waiting
for the interval days programmed, when
the treatable volume has run out;
Manually using the key Manual Regen.
Xp Mode is equipped with an eeprom
memory, on which the programmed
data is memorised, and a buffer battery
which allows the work parameters to be
memorised if the electricity current should
fail.
Xp Mode, like all the range of SIATA
controllers, conforms to the EEC Directives
and is produced in the SIATA plant of
Montespertoli which operates with the
certified Quality System according to the
regulation ISO 9001 / UNI EN ISO 9001.
3 – EXPLANATION OF THE LEDS AND OF
THE KEYS
- TIME OF DAY =
Allows access to the
resetting of the time. At the end of the
programming, allows access to the
programming of the regeneration cycle
times.
- ADVANCE =
Pressed during the
programming or the resetting of the time,
allows the digit flashing on the display to
be increased.
- PROGRAM MODE =
Allows access to the
programming functions of the work
parameters.
- V O L U M E C L O C K =
A l l o w s t h e
visualisation of the display mode to be
changed, moving between the time and
the residual volume.
- MANUAL REGEN =
Allows the manual
a c t i v a t i o n o f t h e re g e n e r a t i o n .
- RESET =
During the programming, allows
for the function to be exited from without
saving the parameter being changed at
the time of the key being pressed.
During the regeneration, causes it to be
ended.
- HIDDEN KEY =
(volume/clock) Positioned
between the keys Time of Day and Reset,
allows the mode of visualisation of the
display to be changed, moving between
the time and the residual volume.
- RESET HARDWARE =
Positioned on the
right of the key Program mode, allows
the resetting of the controller to return if
from block conditions.
If the controller is in the volumetric or
chlorine mode, the front panel will be
equipped with an led which lights up in
correspondence with the impulses of the
litre counter sensor, or during the second
phase of the regeneration cycle,
respectively.
(valve 132) as shown in the following figs.,
proceed as follows:
Fig. 5 – The valve in its packaging has
the shafts inserted almost to their ends
and the screw inserted in its slot.
Fig. 6 – Take out the screw pull both of
the shafts as far as the position shown.
Fig. 7 – At the end of the shafts there is a
flat part with two guides. Place the edge
of the cam on the space between these
guides. Check that the shafts are pointing
towards the inside so as best to meet the
edge of the cam.
Fig. 8 – Push the timer towards the valve
so that the shafts fit inside the pilots and
the two fixing pins shown in Fig. 7 fit into
their slots. If the pins should break, it is
possible to replace them with brass pins
code 117-81.
Fig. 9 – Attach the timer to the valve with
the screw.
3 - GENERAL
There follow some instructions which must
be respected during the use and
maintenance of the controller in order to
ensure the long working life of the
appliance.
3.1 – Packaging and storage
The packaging consists of a box with a
label identifying the product.
The storage of the appliance must be in
environments with the following
characteristics: - Temperature of
b4°C and +40°C; - Relative
humidity of between 30 % and 95 %.
3.2 – Installation
The installation of the controller must be
carried out by qualified personnel; the
installation procedures must be carried
out when the appliance is not plugged
in. The appliance consists of a box in ABS,
closed at the front with a cover fixed by
4 screws and protected by a transparent
cover.
The controller is supplied with a
transformer of 230 / 12 Vac. Other types
of transformer are available on request.
(eg. 115 / 12 Vac – 60 Hz). If Xp Mode is
in the Volumetric version, the litre counter
magnetic sensor cable coming out of
the back of the box must be inserted into
the relevant socket on the SIATA valve or
turbine (Fig. 13).
If Xp Mode is in the Chlorine version, the
cable to attach to the relevant chlorine
producer is also to be found at the back
of the box.
If the external pilots of the controller are
to be supplied with compressed air, (see
Fig. 3 e 4), it must be verified that:
• The pressure of the air supplied is
between 1 and 6 bar, and that it is in any
case no higher than the pressure of the
entry water;
• On the line of the air supply there is a
system for the humidifying of the air (with
water or adequate silicon lubricant), in
order to avoid the drying out of the o-
rings inside the pilots; SIATA recommends
that the pilots always be supplied with
water.
In this case, an impurity filter at the entry
is required.
Particular attention should be paid when
the controller is installed in environments
which do not conform to the regulation
E N 5 0 0 8 2 - 1 ( e l e c t r o - m a g n e t i c
compatibility).
For the installation of the timer on the
valve, when this is equipped with pilots
