Fig. 9 – Fix the timer accurately to the
valve with the proper screws.
3.3 – Maintenance
It is a good manner, every 12 months
approx., to perform a control on the
efficiency of the battery as follows:
• Keep the controller turned off for 15
minutes.
• Supply the timer and check the time
pointed out by the display. If it marks on
midnight (00.00), the battery must be
replaced with the spare part cod. 867.
The following operations of maintenance
must always be performed with the
controller disconnected from power
supply. In case of substitution of the
electronic board and whenever you
should have to operate with the box
open, you have to avoid touching with
the hands the components and the
weldings, especially in the zone of the
m i c r o p r o c e s s o r, s i n c e p o s s i b l e
electrostatic discharges could cause
serious malfunctions to the controller.
Moreover, you have to avoid to put the
electronic board on a metal plain, unless
it is adequately isolated (it is sufficient a
pair of paper-sheets). For the storage of
the electronic board, you have to use
the antistatic bag with which electronic
spare parts are delivered. Avoid the
electronic board to be in contact with
liquid. If this occurs, dry it with blown air.
3.4 – Devices of protection
The controller is fitted with the following
protections:
• Transformer of isolation and safety.
• Electronic circuit of protection from the
tension spike and from the noise.
• Autoreset (par. 4.9).
4–INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE
4.1 – Switching on
The Aqua Timer is not equipped with
power supply switch. The switching on is
obtained by connecting the transformer
to the power supply.
4.2 – Operations
After switching on, the display on the front
panel will display time of day. If the
battery is discharged, the clock will display
midnight (00.00), otherwise an updated
time. If it is necessary to switch off the
controller, the battery must be charged
for at least 24 hours in order to allow a
correct recharge. The regeneration start
modes are:
- Time Start to the programmed time
after the days of interval programmed.
(Led TIME on the panel is turned on)
- Volume Immediate start once the
available volume has been count down.
(Led VOLUME on the panel is turned on)
- Mixed Start to the programmed time
after the days of interval programmed,
or to the time programmed without
attending the days of interval to the
exhaustion of the available volume. (Both
the leds Time and Volume on the panel
are turned on ). Note that when the
controller is set in Volume mode without
connecting the water meter, you have
programming without storing the
c h a n g e s e v e n t u a l l y m o d i f i e d .
4.4 – Filtering
The Aqua Timer allows to control filtering
systems using the special version of the
valves SIATA. To get a correct operation
of the plant, it is necessary to program
the time 0 in the steps 12 and 13 of Tab.
3.
4.4.1 – Particular plants
The Aqua Timer, in his complete version
(with 3 plug DIN, sees fig. 14), allows to
complete plants with SIATA valves and
diaphragm valves, or plants with
d i a p h r a g m v a l v e s o n s p e c i f i c
applications.
4.5 – Service
form the regeneration. This is possible
only when the controller detects that the
cam is positioned on the limit cycle
switch. In order to perform any test
before the installation, it is necessary that
Aqua Timer is connected to its box, so
that the limit cycle switch input is correctly
closed. The Aqua Timer doesn't allow
any operation until the entry of the limit
cycle switch is not closed. As already
written in the par. 4.3, after any
modification to the programming of the
Aqua Timer is necessary to press the Reset
key or start a regeneration in order to
charge the memory with the new
parameters.
4.6 – Reserve
The value of the reserve programmed
with the step 6 of tab. 3 is subtracted by
the value of the tractable volume
programmed with step 4 of tab. 3.
The result is the available volume, which
once exhausted it waits for the
regeneration that will be performed
immediately if the controller is
programmed in volume mode, or to the
time programmed for the regeneration
start if the controller is programmed in
mixed mode.
volume, and you program 1000 liters for
the reserve, the calculated available
volume is of 4000 liters. When the Aqua
Timer works in Volume mode, it is
recommended to leave the reserve
programmed with the value 0000, in
order to use the maximum capacity of
the plant. Available volume = Tractable
Volume–Reserve.
4.7 – Managing the volume
Steps 4 and 5 of tab. 4 show how to
program the treatable volume. If you use
the Hall effect-based SIATA liter counter,
then set the divider (AA14, step 8 of tab.
3) to 14, that is, every 14 impulses the
available volume is decreased by an
average, non settable amount of one
liter.
Thus the maximum programmable
volume is 10.000 liters. If you need to use
a larger volume, then use a simple
arithmetical operation by multiplying the
divider by two, three, four and so on.
At the same time, divide the treatable
volume by two, three, four and so on. If
you need to program a reserve, this value
should also be divided as well as the
volume.
For example:
•15000 litres of water must be treated,
and 1000 of reserve are required:
- Volume/2 = 15.000/2 = 7500 in the steps
4 and 5 of tab. 3
- Reserve/2 = 1.000/2 = 500 in the steps
6 and 7 of tab. 3
- Divider x 2 = AA14 x 2 = AA28 in the
step 8 of tab. 3
• 50,000 litres of water must be treated
and 1000 of reserve are required:
- Volume/5 = 50.000/5 = 0000 in the steps
the possibility to perform the regeneration
cycle exclusively by pressing the Manual
Regen. Command. During the service,
by using the Volume Clock command, it
is possible to change the display mode
of the display between the volume and
the clock; the clock is recognisable by
the presence of the flashing bright point
in the centre of the display. If not, you’re

4.3 – Programming
The programming of Aqua Timer is
performed through the key Program
Mode, and the values are modifiable
with the key Advance. The planning
proceeds as follows:
Chart planning (Tab. 3)
- 1 PROG. MODE =
0.2 3 0 Hour of
regeneration start. The minutes are
flashing.
- 2 PROG. MODE =
0.2 3 0 Hour of
regeneration start. The hours are flashing
- 3 PROG. MODE =

programming has finished. After around
3 seconds, it goes out.
- 16 =
1 2.3 0 The display visualizes the
clock or the volume.
With reference to the step 11 of the tab.
3, if instead of pressing the key Time of
Day the Program Mode key is pressed,
this means it has gone out of the
programming without accessing the
programming of the lengths of the
regeneration cycle. This is the procedure
recommended for the user to comply
with. In any moment it is possible to press
the Reset key to go out of the
programming without storing the modified
value to the value flashing on the display.
In correspondence of the step 15 of tab.
3, the parameters are stored in the
eeprom.
Important!! The parameters that are
programmed according to the steps of
the tab. 3 doesn’t become immediately
operational. In order to become active,
the operator has to press the key Reset
or start a regeneration by using the
Manual Regen. key If this simple rule is
not followed, the controller works with the
old parameters, not with new one.
The
programmation of the clock is obtained
by the key Time of Day, and the values
are modifiable with the key Advance.
The programming proceeds as follows:
Time Clock Programming (Tab. 4)
- 1 TIME OF DAY =
0 8 0 0 Clock. The
minutes are flashing.
- 2 TIME OF DAY =
0 8 0 0 Clock. The hours
are flashing.
- 3 TIME OF DAY =
0 8 0 0 By pressing Time
of Day, you confirm the changes.
If Reset key is pressed in any moment
inside the programming of time of day,
