Some setup is required to get the HBS® algae management system
ready for the water. The simple tools needed, and the assembly
instructions are described in the next two sections.
As General Guidelines . . .
•
Firmly hand-tighten all cable connections but do not over tighten with
wrenches or pliers.
•
Do as much of the work as possible on shore. Once you are in the water, work
and assembly become much more difficult.
•
Using electricity outdoors requires a GFCI (ground fault circuit), good
grounding connections, and a Surge Protector Device.

SAFE GROUNDING AND GFCI
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
5.1.1.
Do not remove AC Plug Ground-Pin from Power Supply or connect to
utility power via an adaptor that bypasses the product’s
Ground-pin
connection.
5.1.2.
To reduce the risk of electric shock this device must be grounded at all
times when connected to utility power. The AC cord set must be
connected to an appropriate receptacle properly installed and grounded in
accordance with the National Electrical Code and all local codes and
ordinances.
