4.5.7 Laying Out Cables
Basic Rules
●
Each type of cables, such as power cables, signal cables, and ground cables,
must be laid out and bound separately. Cables of the same type must be laid
out in the same direction. Cables near each other can be routed in crossover
mode. When you lay out cables parallel to each other, ensure that the
distance between power cables and signal cables is longer than or equal to 30
mm (1.18 in.).
●
If you cannot identify cables from the cable labels, attach an engineering
label to each cable.
●
Cables must be protected from burrs, heat sinks, and active accessories, which
may damage the insulation layers of the cables.
●
Ensure that the length of cable ties for binding the cables is appropriate. Do
not connect two or more cable ties together. After properly binding the
cables, trim any excess lengths of the cable ties and ensure that the cuts are
neat and smooth.
●
Cables must be properly routed, supported, and fixed in the cable trough so
that the cables can be securely connected to the terminals, and the insulation
layers of the cables will not be damaged.
●
Surplus cable lengths must be coiled and bound in an appropriate position
inside the cabinet.
●
Cables must be routed straight and neatly bound. The minimum bending
radius of a cable varies according to the cable position.
–
If you need to bend the middle of a cable, the minimum bending radius is
twice the cable diameter.
