7.5 Replacing a Fire Alarm Bell

Prerequisites



A fire alarm bell is faulty.



Spare fire alarm bells are available.

Tools and Materials



Diagonal pliers



PVC insulation tape



Crimped terminals



Gloves



Step ladder



Spare fire alarm bells

Impact on the System

Procedure

Step 1

Push the fire alarm bell out of the base.

Step 2

Cut the cables connecting the faulty alarm bell using diagonal pliers, solder them to the cables
of the new alarm bell regardless of the polarity, wrap the connection point using PVC
insulation tape, and install the new fire alarm bell to the base.
