7. Install all components removed from the failed system board.
8. Install the expansion cage.
9. Install the server into the chassis.
10. Connect all peripheral cables to the server.
11. Power up the server on page 23.
12. Re-enter the server serial number and product ID .
Re-entering the server serial number and product ID
After you replace the system board, the server serial number and the product ID must be configured.
Prerequisites
• This procedure is done in the IPMItool CLI. If this tool is not yet installed, download the tool from:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ipmitool
• Note the server serial number and the product ID on the server information pull tab .
Procedure
1. To open a Linux terminal, click Applications > Terminal .
2. Enter following command where
1111111111
is the server serial number.
ipmitool fru edit 0 field p 4 1111111111
3. Enter following command where the
P00000-B00
is the server product ID.
ipmitool fru edit 0 field p 2 P00000-B00
4. Close the Linux terminal.
The procedure is complete.
