To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

Removing and replacing the GPU blank

CAUTION: 

To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, the GPU blank or an expansion board

must always be installed in the front PCIe riser slot. Do not operate the server unless this thermal
requirement is met.

Prerequisites

Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a T-10 Torx screwdriver available.

Procedure

1. Power down the server

 on page 23.

2.

Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.

3. Remove the server

 on page 24.

4. Remove the front expansion cage cover

.

5.

Remove the screws securing the GPU blank to the expansion cage, and then remove the GPU blank.
