RCM module operational requirements
• When the RCM module is installed in the chassis, the iLO Management Ports in the servers are automatically disabled.
• If the RCM module iLO ports are used to daisy chain multiple chassis, connect one iLO port to the network, while the
other iLO ports are linked to the multiple chassis together. Having more than one iLO port connected to the network
at the same time results in a loopback condition.
• If the RCM module is used with the APM, do not connect the APM iLO port and the chassis iLO port to the network at
the same time. Connecting both ports at the same time results in a loopback condition.
• If the RCM module iLO port is connected to a network, the network must operate at a speed of 1Gb/s. If the network
operating speed is less than 1Gb/s, the system will not be able to connect to the network.
Installing the RCM module
This kit is an optional RCM module kit which is a non-hot-plug device and allows IPMI aggregation at the chassis level. The
RCM Module consists of two IPMI ports for redundancy. It can also be daisy chained to connect to a Top of the Rack (ToR)
management switch.
Procedure
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the chassis.
3. Remove the RCM connector cover.
4. Install the RCM module:
a. Press and hold the RCM module latch.
b. Thread the power supply strain relief strap through the RCM module latch.
c. Slide the RCM module into the bay until it clicks into place.
