Chapter 6

Replacing Parts

Removing a Hard Disk Drive (DAT shown)

Replacing a Hard Disk Drive (Shelf Mounted)

1. Remove the hard disk drive from the shipping container.

2. Make any settings required by the hard disk drive documentation.

3. With the cable connectors toward the rear of the chassis, guide the hard disk drive into the

chassis opening.

4. Attach the hard disk drive by securing the four screws at the chassis side.

5. At the rear of the hard disk drive, carefully connect the power and data cables.

6. Replace the air duct and latch it into the chassis.

7. Replace the bezel.

NOTE

If this is the initial installation of a hard disk drive in this location, it is necessary to
remove the bezel drive cover from the front panel bezel.

8. Replace the cover.

9. Fasten the six thumbscrews securing the cover to the chassis.

10. Replace the external cables and power cord.

11. Power up the NetServer as described in Chapter 1.
