Disconnect all cables from the enclosure, including the power cables.

Depending upon the maintenance task, it may be necessary to carry out some of the following
tasks:
•
Remove all the disk drives. Make sure all disks are labeled before removing them to
ensure they can be reinstalled in the proper enclosure bays. See
“Replacing a hot-plug
hard disk” (page 50)

Remove the power supplies See

•
Remove the I/O module. See
“Removing and replacing the I/O module” (page 56)
•
Remove the fan modules. See
“Removing and replacing a fan module” (page 58)
4.
Loosen the captive screws behind the latch on the front left and right bezel ears of the chassis
(1)
5.
Loosen the rear hold-down bracket.
6.
Slide the enclosure out of the rack (2) and set it on a secure surface.
WARNING!
Always use at least two people to lift an enclosure into the rack. If the enclosure
is being loaded into the rack above chest level, a third person must assist with aligning the
enclosure with the rails while the other two people support the weight of the enclosure.
7.
Carry out appropriate maintenance tasks.
8.
Slide the enclosure back into the rack and tighten the retaining screws.
