SMTP gateway configuration on the MFP
(4100mfp and 9000mfp)

Note

The following steps do not apply to the HP LaserJet 9055mfp or
9065mfp.

Use the following steps to configure the SMTP gateway on the printer.

Use a Web browser to go to the MFP home page.

On the MFP home page, click Settings, and then click Digital
Sending.

Using the Digital Sending Config Applet, click Send to E-mail,
and then click Enable Send to E-mail.

Note

The MFP must be installed in order to set the device SMTP gateway
addresses to the HP DSS Workflow server IP address. The
HP DSS Workflow server requires that all e-mails can be sent and
received, and requires workflow connectivity for the MFP.

In SMTP Gateway Settings, set Send E-mail using … to The
Device.

Type the HP DSS Workflow server IP address into the MFP
SMTP Gateway IP Address field.

Type a valid e-mail address into the Default From: field.

7

Click Apply to save the setting.

This completes the setup and installation on the MFP.

Note

All MFPs that are configured to work with the HP DSS Workflow server
must use the The Device e-mail setting to send e-mail. Using the
HP DSS Workflow service for e-mail interferes with the
HP DSS Workflow server.
