Starting an Operating System Installation

Table E–1: Starting a Windows NT Workstation Installation

Insert the Microsoft Windows NT
Workstation CD-ROM into the CD
drive.

CD-ROM drive is ready.

From the AlphaBIOS boot screen,
press [F2].

AlphaBIOS setup screen displays.

Select

Install Windows NT.

Windows NT setup procedure starts. "Welcome
to Setup" screen is displayed.

If your system type is not listed,
select

Other.

Press [Enter].

If your system type is listed, select
system.
Press [Enter].
Skip to step 7.

"Insert the manufacturer-supplied hardware
support disk" message is displayed.

Insert the hardware manufacturer-
supplied hardware support disk.
Press [Enter] when ready.

You have chosen to change your computer type to
one supported by a disk provided by a hardware
manufacturer. "Please insert manufacturer-
supplied hardware support disk."

Select appropriate system type.
Press [Enter].

A list of systems is displayed.

Press [Enter].

You may now continue the installation process.

Select

Custom Setup
