Electrostatic
Discharge (ESD)
CAUTION
Ground yourself (with a wrist strap) and the instrument, especially when
making or breaking connections at the input ports. Do not exceed the
instrument’s maximum input power level of +13 dBm as +13 dBm is the
damage level.
Other than the above ESD precautions, you need observe only normal
precautions in handling and operating the HP 8511A.
Service
The voltages in this test set warrant normal caution for operator safety.
Service should be performed only by qualified personnel. For more
information on service strategy, troubleshooting procedures, replaceable
parts and similar information refer to the HP 8510 On-Site Service Manual.
Additional Equipment
Required
Table 2-6 on page 2-6 lists additional equipment and accessories required
for use with the HP 8511A frequency converter. The table also notes which
items are required to verify the performance of the test set and which items
are required for operation. Other equipment may be substituted if its
specifications meet or exceed the specifications listed in the critical
specifications column.
