chromatic
dispersion
Chromatic
dispersion
is
pulse
broadening
due
to
the
dierent
velocities
of
dierent
colors
contained
in
the
spectrum
of
the
source;
the
pulse
broadening
depends
directly
on
the
spectral
width
of
the
source
.
Chromatic
dispersion
is
basically
a
material
property;
it
also
contributes
to
the
reduction
of
the
bandwidth
of
the
multimode
ber
.
Chromatic
dispersion
cannot
be
measured
directly;
instead,
multimode
dispersion
adds
quadratically
to
the
measurement
result.
