Installing a DIMM
Procedure
1. If installed, remove the security bezel .
2. Power down the server .
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Do one of the following:
• Extend the server from the rack .
• Remove the server from the rack .
5. Remove the access panel .
6. Remove the air baffle .
7. Open the DIMM slot latches.
8. Install the DIMM.

9. Install the air baffle .
10. Install the access panel .
11. Do one of the following:
• Slide the server into the rack.
•
Install the server into the rack .
12. Connect each power cord to the server.
13. Connect each power cord to the power source.
14. Power up the server .
15. If removed, install the security bezel .
After installing the DIMMs, use BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) in the UEFI System Utilities to configure
the memory protection mode.
