W8710A EQUIPMENT MONITORING SYSTEM

For heat pump systems, the default 24°heat rise is based on a 46° outside air temperature. This heat D/T changes as the out-

door temperature changes.

If you have a gas heat system, it is already calibrated.

So press Enter and skip to step 21.

a. If you need to change the type of heating system to

electric heat or heat pump (or if you just want to

reset the W8710A to the original factory setting,

continue the following step.

b. Press the CAL key and then press the 2 key (2

RESTORE).

NOTE: Do not press 1 INITIALIZE.

Select the type of heating by pressing 1 for gas, 2 for

electric or 3 for heat pump.

The Handheld Programmer displays Calculating Electric

Set Up (or Calculating Gas Set Up or Calculating HP

Set Up) while the W8710A is calculating.

The next screen requests you to select the type of Air

Sensor. Press 3 to select W8710A.

After the W8710A completes calculating, it displays

Resetting Unit Please Wait.

The Handheld Programmer displays the software ver-

sion again, repeats the contractor number, access num-

ber and customer number confirmation screens and

ends with STATUS OK screen.
