Here is how to set the percent tolerance selector to the correct setting:
1. First make sure the die you are using is installed and adjusted and you are
ready to make parts.
2. Open the AutoSet control box and find the percent tolerance selector near
the bottom right of the box.
3. Look at Figure 4-2 to become familiar with the selector settings. The se-
lector dial has settings from 0 to 9. Each setting represents a percent. The
first dot right of 0 is 1. 1= 2%; 2 = 5%; 3=10%; 4 = 15%, and so on.
NOTE
The 0 position automatically sets setpoints at 120% of full scale
tonnage. This disables AutoSet (it does not create setpoints).
However, it will stop the press if tonnage exceeds 120% of full
scale.

4. Set the percent tolerance selector to 15%. Do this by clicking the dial
until the pointer is at "4". (This setting means AutoSet will create set-
points 15 percent above the highest tonnage recorded during the sample
period.)
NOTE
The 15% setting is a good setting to start with for most jobs. As
you become more experienced using AutoSet, you may want to
start at different settings depending on the job.
