STARTING THE ENGINE
Never run the engine in an enclosed or confined area. Exhaust
contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas; exposure can cause loss of
consciousness and may lead to death.
Never hold or squeeze the drive clutch lever and auger clutch
switch when operating the starter motor; the machine will start
suddenly as the engine starts, resulting in accident or injury.
To start and stop the engine and snowblower on a sloping surface,
be sure to set the shift lever in the ‘‘NEUTRAL’’ position with the
drive clutch lever released.

Set the parking brake lever in the ‘‘PARKING’’ position.
Remove the left side cover (see page

Turn the fuel valve lever to the ‘‘ON’’ position. Be sure that the
carburetor drain screw is tightened securely. Reinstall the left side
cover securely (see page
