CW Operation
The

contains all the controls and indica-
tors that are required for CW opera-
tion.
The
Mode
is shown in the upper left
(CW), along with the state (RX).
The
Setting
widget is displayed on
the lower left. This indicates which
option is currently controlled by the
left rotary encoder (AF Gain) and its
present value (71).
The
LO Freq
widget is shown on the
lower right (7026.7) and the tuning
step is 100 Hz as indicated by the
“grayed out” least-significant digits of
the frequency. It also shows the
memory preset,
Memory 2
.
As discussed in the
S
ETTINGS
S
CREEN
section of this manual, there are 4 programmable control
buttons on the screen, marked
AGC
,
Filter
,
WF/Sp,
and
Mode
.
The
AGC
button selects the Automatic Gain Control mode. The
Filter
button selects the audio
filter bandwidth, as does pressing and releasing the left rotary encoder. The
WF/Sp
button
toggles the FFT display area of the screen between
Waterfall
view (Figure 64) and
Spectrum
view (Figure 65). The
Mode
button allows you to jump to a different operational mode (CW,
USB, LSB, PSK-U, PSK-L) without having to go through the

.
When tuning in a station, place the peak representing the station on the red line. This is in the
center of the narrowest filter, 500
– 600 Hz. This will result in a CW received signal tone of
550Hz. In transmit, without Split operation, this is also the frequency of the transmitted signal.
