Diagnosing Common Errors

Exicor 150AT User Manual

Symptom

Common Causes

Solutions

DC level is 0 V with
no sample present

The laser is not ON

The light path is blocked

Check that the laser is on by putting a
piece of paper in the beam path and
observing the red laser spot on the
paper

If the laser is not ON, check the laser
fuse. Replace as necessary.

Check the light path for anything that
may be blocking the light from reaching
the detector.

DC level is 0 V when
measuring a sample

The laser is not ON

The light path is blocked

Sample does not transmit
light at 633nm

Check that the laser is on by putting a
piece of paper in the beam path and
observing the red laser spot on the
paper

If the laser is not ON, check the cable
connection between the Source Module
and the Master Electrical Enclosure

Check the light path for anything that
may be blocking the light from reaching
the detector

Observe the laser spot between the
sample and the detector. If the sample
scatters or absorbs the light, the sample
cannot be measured by the system
