1/2" [12.7mm] Standoff
The fi replace has standoffs installed on the front of the fi replace standard from the factory. They are located on the
upper left, center and right front of the fi replace and are to ensure that the 1/2" [12.7mm] required clearance to
combustibles on the surface of the fi replace is maintained.
If the standoffs are removed, only non-combustible material can be installed against the surface of the fi replace such as a
non-combustible backer cement board. 1/2” [12.7mm] minimum thickness must be used in the 15” [381mm] between the
top of the 3’’ trim to the combustible framing the full width of the fi replace. The 15” includes a 7” [178mm] minimum above
the top of the fi replace that is recommended for ease of attachment.
Refer to Figure 5.1 for a standard installation using the provided 1/2"standoffs.
Refer to Figure 5.2 for requirements when not using the provided 1/2" standoffs.
