Maintenance work
WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
Incorrectly tightened screws can lead to material fatigue.
When subjected to excessive strain, screws become
malleable and can rupture.
• If you notice loose screw connections, ask your spe-
cialist dealer to tighten them using a torque key.
• If you tighten screws yourself, use a torque key and
seek information from your specialist dealers about
the torque to use.
Screw connections
• Lift the bike up by around 5 centimetres and then carefully
let it bounce down onto the ground. Check for noises while
doing this.
• If you notice any unexpected noises, ask your specialist
dealer to tighten the screws using a torque key.
Frame and fork
1. Check whether there are any cracks or deformations in
the frame or fork (visual inspection).
• If there are cracks or deformations in the frame or fork,
consult your specialist dealer immediately.
2. Check whether the upper part of the fork descends from
the handlebar tube in a straight line.
• If the fork does not descend from the handlebar tube in
a straight line, have the fork checked by your specialist
dealer.
Baggage rack and mudguards
1. Hold the bicycle firmly by the frame and take hold of the
baggage rack.
2. By moving the baggage rack backwards and forwards,
check whether all screw connections are secure and do
not move.
3. Check the mudguards when moving them back and
forwards with the bicycle in a fixed position.
• If the screw connections move, tighten them.
• Do not use excessive force in the process.
