1. Take hold of the brake arm and check it sits securely on
the rear frame chain stay (see
Figure W-5
).
• If the screw on the brake arm is loose, screw it tight.
• Do not use excessive force in the process.
2. Check for noises when operating the coaster brake.
• If you hear noises, have the coaster brake repaired by
your specialist dealer.
Pedal drive
1. Take hold of the pedal and try to move it outwards and
inwards in a sideways direction.
• While doing so, check that the pedal cranks, the bottom
bracket or pedal supports move to the side (see
Figure W-6
).

2. Take hold of the pedal and try to move it in a horizontal
direction, up and down.
• While doing so, check that the pedal and pedal crank
move vertically in the bottom bracket and pedal support.
• If the pedal, the pedal crank or the bottom bracket can
be moved to the side or horizontally, have the pedal drive
checked by your specialist dealer.
