2.13.1.2 Setting the Test Load Flow Switch Trip Level

To set the trip level, an external flow meter needs to be attached in series with the 
load coolant supply.

Adjust the load coolant supply valve until the meter reads the correct flow 
indicated in the table in drawing 843-5550-170

 

(843-5550-213 for DVL 4300 

and DVL 5700).

!

 CAUTION:

IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE TEST LOAD, THE LOAD FLOW SWITCH SHOULD 
BE SET TO OPEN IF ADEQUATE FLOW IS NOT PROVIDED TO THE LOAD.

Check the Load interlock. 

Once the flow rate is correct, press OUPUT to go to the 

RF Output screen. This screen displays status of the load interlock (open or closed). 

Adjust the flow switch trip level until the GUI displays Load Interlock: Closed.

 

Verify that the flow switch operates correctly by decreasing the amount of flow 
through the load. The interlock should OPEN.

Go back to the nominal flow rate recommended for the test load. 

The interlock 

should close.

2.13.1.3 Setting the Heat Exchanger Fan Turn ON Temperatures

The two stage thermostat that controls the heat exchanger fan turn on temperatures 
were factory set for 32

o

 C and 38

o

 C. The adjustment dial inside the thermostat, 

marked in deg C, controls fan A and is set at 32

o

 C, which will switch fan A on 

when the coolant temperature reaches 32

o

 C. The +/- adjustment knob, next to the 

dial, controls the differential when fan B will switch on, which is factory set to
+6

o

 C. This will switch fan B on when the coolant temperature reaches 38

o 

C.

2.13.1.4 Verifying Pump Switching 

In modules with dual pumps, verify that both pumps operate properly by 
switching pumps back and forth from the GUI screen. Also verify that correct 
flow rate is achieved with either pump active.
