•

Materials
Required
•
Rate Calibration Data Gathering Form. (Appendix A)
•
One minute timer or stop watch.
•
Container to catch the material that is dispensed in one minute from
the feeder.
Step 1. Set the Operational Percentage (OP%) to 20.0% or a percent-
age below the expected operational range. (See Feeder Verifi-
cation Procedures, Paragraph 5.3.1, sub paragraph 12 d for
instructions)
Step 2. Press the Start button. Allow the feeder to run until there is a
smooth even flow of material.
Step 3. Empty the container you are using to catch the material.
Step 4. Performing the LOW RATE data sampling.

Clear Totalizer to Zero.
•
Set the Operational Percentage (OP%) to a percentage
point below the expected operational range. For Example:
30-40% anticipated operating range (OP%). Set the OP%
for the low rate samples at 20% which is your LOW
RATE CAL% on the form. (See Feeder Verification Pro-
cedures, Paragraph 5.3.1, sub paragraph 12 e for instruc-
tions)
•
Simultaneously press the start and the timer at the same
time. This procedure can be done with one person, but is
best done with two people, one operating the controller
and the other timing the sample run.
•
Allow the feeder to run for exactly one (1) minute.
•
Stop the feeder by pressing the Stop button on the control-
ler.
•
Check the weight by weighing the sample on the scale or
if you don't have a scale checking the total weight on the
Scale Display. (See Fig. 5-11)
•
Write the OP%, Weight, and date in LOW RATE CAL%
Reading # 1.
•
Repeat this procedure for Readings #2, and #3. This will
insure a higher degree of accuracy.
Step 5. Performing the HIGH RATE data sampling.
•
Clear Totalizer to Zero.
•
Set the Operational Percentage (OP%) to a percentage
point above the expected operational range. For Example:
